Your exhibition stand design represents your business, and we’ve seen some great designs at the shows this year! So, here’s what to do, where to put your budget, and why investing in an expert supplier is worthwhile.
With hundreds of stands all trying to grab delegates’ attention, gain their confidence, and ensure their future business, employing the right stand builder for your next expo will give your business the edge and be noticeable, leaving you confident you’re one step ahead of the competition.
The right signage
First and foremost, good signage is easy to read and isn’t disjointed, so do not separate your sign by multiple posters especially if it’s your brand’s name. For knowing the correct placement of signs or digital screens consider all your sightlines – this is the view your prospective clients will take as they pass your stand. Depending on your stands’ positioning in the exhibition hall, in the middle of a row or at the end, your sightlines will be different. For optimal impact, you want to position your most important messaging in the sightlines delegates will see first, and ensure its well lit.
Interactive elements
Interactive elements incorporated into your stand design are a magnet for visitors to your stand. Delegates usually feel like they have to speak to somebody from your stand to better understand the brand, so let them be independent and find some things out for themselves. Or even better, be conversation starters and get delegates talking to each other. Get them to put a ping pong ball in a labelled selection of cylinders as an interactive poll, play a game, or even offer them a nice massage! And depending on budget, how about a magician, or a client free bar? Always a winner!
Think out of the box
Exhibition stands are often built with the basic cube shape in mind but if you want to really invest in your stand and create a stir at the exhibition hall then consider a ceiling piece or a structure with height. If your stand can make delegates experience space at the venue in a way which no other can – getting them to look up above them for example – then you will create a memorable experience associated with your brand. Height can be used to your advantage also, if your logo can be seen above other stands along the skyline of the exhibition hall more delegates will try to locate you. Think about breaking the mould in a different way such as using arches and circles instead of straight lines.
Employing a professional
Experienced stand designers will understand the colours and lights which catch people’s attention walking by in the exhibition hall, an awareness of colour psychology can be very useful in stand design and using every inch of your space wisely according to your desired budget. A common afterthought which designers are used to taking care of is storage, giving you a clean and tidy spot to place your brochures away from the desk appointment areas. This makes you appear prepared and put together – something that stand designers are experienced in as putting delegate experience at the forefront of your stand design is all in their area of expertise. Something fun and different could be a themed booth for your appointments.
