Home of the UK event industry’s biggest conferences, International Confex and Event Tech Live, ExCeL London has recently partnered with security company ITS UK & Ireland to enhance the safety and security of the venue through a detection canine team.
Head of Security at ExCeL, Henry Havis, who also chairs the AEV’s Security Working Group, said: “The safety and security of everyone who comes to ExCeL London – be it event organisers, exhibitors, suppliers, staff or our four million annual visitors – remains our utmost importance.”
AEV Announce Board Changes After its annual general meeting of the Association of Event Venues held
in Manchester Central, the AEV has announced some personnel changes to the board. Its Chair Shaun Hinds, CEO of Manchester Central and Vice Chair Ian Taylor, Managing Director of NEC will continue their roles for a second year on the board.
Shaun commented: “I am pleased to report that the AEV has enjoyed yet another prosperous year, effectively addressing the challenges and providing unwavering support to its members; achieved through the commitment of our board and central AEV team.
“Our working groups remain one of our most valued services. With 15 groups currently running, we have hosted 48 meetings in the past year. These groups proved indispensable during the pandemic and have seen record levels of participation and activity. Thanks to our members for their contribution.”
